It’s been six years since the show ended, and since the first X-Files movie came out. It’s questionable why they decided to make a second X-Files movie but for die-hard fans of the show, it’s what they have been waiting for. Not much has been given away in terms of the plot so here are just snippets of it. Scully (Gillian Anderson) is now a doctor at a kids hospital and Mulder (David Duchovny) is in hiding because of the charges against him. An FBI agent goes missing and needs their help. Mulder is all for it but Scully begins to have second thoughts as she is too distracted by doing a stem cell operation on a boy she is looking after and the crazy antics of Father Joe (Billy Connolly), even though she was the one that persuaded him to come back. Anderson, Duchovny, Amanda Peet, Xzibit and Billy Connolly give decent performances, although sometimes Anderson delivered lines that sounded very written. The plot is something you would see on the TV show but it was handled quite well. Another tip for die-hard fans, get happy because all hope is not lost between the love of Mulder and Scully (!!!).
