Beck’s latest release “Modern Guilt” is sure to be an album that separates from his previous releases. He had a little help from Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley, who produced the album. “Gamma Ray” has an almost similar guitar tone in a Beach Boys record, the church hymn like “Chemtrails” with it’s long instrumental jam to finish it off, “Modern Guilt” brings out the synthesizers and Nintendo Game sounds and “Replica” has Beck’s trademark of instrumentalism with the randomized drums beats and constant clashing of other instruments – basically it’s all over the place. The ten tracks are filled with rock, folk and even a little electronic and is a feast for the ears.
